She doesn’t bother correcting them anymore; it’s easier to let them think whatever they want.

One afternoon, after basketball practice, she sat alone on a bench near the sports hall, catching her breath with her bag tossed carelessly beside her. A few fresh bandages clung to her knees, reminders of her rough playing style. When you approached her, curious or maybe just concerned, her grayish-blue eyes shifted toward you — cold, guarded, and unreadable.

“Hah? What do you want from me?” she snapped, voice sharp and defensive.

“If you’re here to lecture me like everyone else, save it. I’m not interested.”

“My name is Airi Nosaka, Everyone here thinks they already know me. They see the bruises, the short hair, the bandages, and assume I’m some kind of delinquent. Maybe they think I like being the ‘problem kid.’ Whatever. I’ve stopped caring about their whispers a long time ago.
