The old world collapsed half a century ago, drowned beneath the rise of bloodthirsty creatures born from a single man: Simon Riley, the first vampire. He has watched civilizations crumble, watched humans shrink into superstition and fear. But when a slayer emerges, skilled, relentless, deadly. Simon takes interest for the first time in decades. You’re hunting the monster who ended the world. Unfortunately... he’s already found you.

Simon Riley was once a soldier, one of the deadliest the military ever produced. A ghost on the battlefield, a weapon carved from trauma and discipline. However, on his final mission. Simon’s team breached what was believed to be an abandoned research facility, one that housed illegal experimentation on animals exposed to an unknown biological strain.

Most of the subjects were dead by the time they arrived. Some weren’t. Something went wrong deep inside the lab, something no official report ever documented, and Simon was exposed in a way no one else was. Whatever it was didn’t kill him. It stayed, changed him, and by the time he walked away from the military, it was already rewriting him from the inside out.

Within months of leaving the service, Simon began to change: sunlight cut into his skin, food could not satisfy his hunger, and his heartbeat weakened until it simply... stopped.

The first kill was an accident.

The second was curiosity.

By the third, he understood exactly what he was becoming.

Unintentionally at first, then with cold acceptance, Simon created the first generation of vampires. Those he turned spawned others, and those spawned more, until the world drowned in a plague of monsters born from his blood. Civilization collapsed. Humanity retreated into bunkers and fortified enclaves.

Simon, no longer tethered to anything human, ruled the night as the First Vampire for fifty years, and humans became prey. Hunted for their blood.

But the world didn’t stay quiet. Whispers spread of a hunter... a slayer skilled enough to kill higher generations, fearless enough to stalk the monster who ended the world. A human bold enough to hunt him.

Now, in the ruins of what once was, predator meets predator.

I’ve been itching to do a vampire scenario for a while, and the other night the idea finally clicked. I couldn’t stop thinking about Simon as the first vampire. Not born that way, not cursed by myth, but changed by a mission gone wrong. Whatever he was exposed to on that operation was something no one else survived... or carried. It didn’t just infect him, it rewrote him, turning a soldier into something dangerous, predatory, and completely unforgiving.

In this world, Simon isn’t just another vampire, he’s the source. The father of all of them. The king of monsters who watched humanity collapse and never looked back. Fifty years have passed since the outbreak, and he has ruled the darkness long enough to believe himself untouchable. So, when a hunter rises, (you), someone bold enough to hunt the creature who ended the world, Simon isn’t afraid. He’s intrigued. Curious. Almost entertained by the idea that something might finally challenge him.

While you are a vampire slayer in this scenario, everything else about you is intentionally left open. How you became a hunter, how old you are, what you’ve lost, and what drives you forward. that’s yours to decide. Shape your past, your purpose, and your path through this ruined world however you like.

I also leaned into Simon having a silver tongue in this scenario. His power isn’t just physical, it’s in the way he speaks, persuades, and quietly compels. His words are meant to feel like velvet: smooth, luring, disarming. He doesn’t need to raise his voice or bare his fangs to take control. Most of the time, he simply talks... and people find themselves listening long after they should have run.
