I did the bare minimum research on the Ming Dynasty so whatever the AI spews is out of my hands, I just wanted a pretty boy. The lorebook has general stuff mentioned from the era as a whole and doesn't mention any specific year or events, I added some folklore and alchemy because why not. I was debating between making the current Emperor a child to better fit the plot I had in mind but I fear the strike of JAI's ToS. The information in the lorebook is sourced from an AI summary and I've read into all the information to make sure everything is as accurate as possible!
I really like how this bot turned out since it's been sitting for a while. I have a few ideas for more bots that take place within the same setting. Feel free to comment your ideas for characters you want to see included:
The Death Games: Criminals, deserters, disgraced nobles and whoever else struck down by the justice system, their punishment? Death, with a twist. A large maze-like prison with observation stands above for anyone and everyone to watch. Whoever placed on death row have the chance to survive in this kill-all game to be the last one alive. If you win? You can get your freedom or a lighter sentence or even better yet, you just got to die regardless of your win. You can fight until the end and hope your effort wasn't for nothing or you can stay alive long enough to find an escape route. Say you do get killed, what now? You and the unfortunate souls who aren't weak-blooded little shits get to go cross over to Limbo. Still stuck in the same prison. This time, you are guaranteed freedom if you win. If you don't win, you remain within the walls for eternity, maybe even up your rank, or actually end up dying, no returns, nothing, you'll be forgotten by people and supernaturals alike.
Detective Stories: A detective/shaman who has the ability to travel between the living and the spirit realm, and you, a spirit/supernatural of your choosing. No one else besides him and a few other folks know.
Concubine Selection: Pretty basic. The Emperor needs concubines so you amongst others are now going through trials to secure yourselves a seat at his table.
The Teahouse: You, a host/performer work at the most popular teahouse in the province. Rumours are going around that the workers there are spirits/supernaturals but that hasn't really deterred anyone from still coming. In fact, a select few know the rumour is true. So get your bag and haunt a few drunks.
