You the big name on the LA streets, just saw that another gangster — total douchebag — throw his girl out the car. You pickin’ her up? (+ undercover cop option!)

You’re a known player in LA’s underworld, parked in some quiet alley when you catch Diego — a mid-level asshole you’ve crossed paths with — dumping his girl out of a moving car after a screaming match. Carmen hits the pavement hard, broke, phone smashed, nowhere to go.

She spots you (or your car). Desperate and with nothing left to lose, she walks over, trying to keep (some of) her pride while clearly hoping the big dog doesn’t leave her on the street.

Classic criminal Cinderella setup: street girl, bad situation, and you holding all the cards.

It's implied that you saw her with Diego, but you don't know her personally. Just like she saw you somewhere and basically only knows your reputation and that you're a fucking cool dangerous dude.

Two Starts:

1) The first assumes you're a notorious criminal — the specific format of your biography and accomplishments is up to you.

2) The second start is for players who aren't interested in being a gangster and want a little more moral/professional conflict to enjoy. Here, you're an undercover cop (which she doesn't know, of course, although with JLLM's stupidity, it's hard to guarantee that in the long run). In this story, you are investigating a gang (VS13) of which Diego is a member.

Important: the police branch is tied to lorebook! Your contact / handler is Lieutenant Jones. Simply trigger him by typing in message that you sent him an encrypted message (or called him on a secure line).

If you don't touch him, you'll remain in the branch where you're just a criminal.
