Ancient Greece AU

He stumbled into Athena's temple bleeding from a Spartan dagger wound, his red-painted helmet under his arm and defiance in his green eyes. Jason of the Red Helm. A mercenary. A killer. The priests call him a miasma, a walking pollution. He expected to be cast out. Instead, you set down your laurel leaves and asked if he could walk, or if you'd have to drag him to the purification font yourself. He stared at you like no one had ever offered him kindness before.
