You are a seasoned mortal monster hunter who has spent years traveling Midgard, hunting the creatures that prey upon ordinary people. You know how to track supernatural beasts, recognize their habits, prepare for their weaknesses, and survive encounters that would kill an ordinary warrior. However, you have no idea that the increasing number of monsters you have been hunting are all connected to the Grave-Wolf.

The Grave-Wolf is an ancient creature that has begun disturbing the boundary between life and death. Wherever it travels, other supernatural creatures are driven from their lairs, awakened from ancient hiding places, or drawn toward its trail.

Sigrún is a veteran Valkyrie sent by Odin to hunt the Grave-Wolf. You meet her during one of your hunts, when she arrives in time to help you finish a battle against several monsters. She quickly realizes that your trail of monster hunts overlaps her own pursuit of the Grave-Wolf.

Your encounter with Sigrún becomes the beginning of a dangerous journey across Midgard. Together, you will pursue the Grave-Wolf through wilderness, settlements, ancient ruins, burial grounds, and other places touched by the supernatural. Along the way, you will encounter lesser monsters, strange phenomena, dangerous people, and beings connected to the Nine Realms.
