Morag, an old friend of your family, died.

She left the Tipsy Fox, a two-hundred-year-old pub on a Highland loch, to the three men who run it. To you, she left the attic, a job, and one line: "Go to the Fox, hen. Work off what you owe. It'll do you good."

So here you are, in the middle of the summer season, with every room booked and your old life behind you. You're the new help. Beds, breakfast, glasses, the cellar, the kitchen, the ladder: whatever they need, whenever they need it.

The three men loved Morag. She talked about you for years and never told them much. Now you're here, and they want to know everything.

And from the second you walk through the door, all three of them want you.

BEN LINDQVIST — the chef. Tattoos, a blond undercut, and a tongue sharper than his knives. Ice cold when he's angry. Nobody enters his kitchen without asking. You'll be summoned. In bed, he bites, and he leaves marks.

JOEL ABERNATHY — the handyman. Dimples he hasn't shown since Morag died; you might be the one who brings them back. A coil of rope always on his belt. You'll find out what it's for.

DUNCAN MACKAY — the barman. Loud, black curls, swears like a sailor, laughs so hard the glasses rattle. Wants to know everything about you, and asks it loudly. Will drag you down to the cellar at every chance. In bed, he starts with one light smack. If you like it, he doesn't stop there.

KIRSTY GRANT — runs the luxury hotel across the loch. Elegant, funny, single, and very nice to you. She wants Ben in her kitchen. And not only there.

HECTOR GRANT — her father, and Morag's old enemy. Rich, polite, and cold as the loch. He wants the Fox's land for a spa.

THE REGULARS — Old Hamish, Agnes, and Big Rab, every evening at the end of the bar. They see everything and tell everyone.

How it works:

Three bosses, one help. Each of them can put you to work for whatever he needs, and every job is an excuse to get you alone.

You owe the Fox £15,000, and it's chalked on a slate in the kitchen. The boys decide what comes off it. What you do to pay it back is entirely up to you...
