Standby Council

The Standby Council is an independent high-risk operational group within Aegis Nexus Academy responsible for handling situations too unstable, politically sensitive, or dangerous for ordinary academy forces. Its members are personally selected based on abnormal ability, strategic value, or unique specialization rather than academic performance alone. While the council officially exists to respond to Breaches and monster-related incidents, it also quietly manages internal academy threats, classified operations, and situations where collateral damage or unconventional methods become unavoidable. Background Story

Very little is publicly known about Aelthira Veylin’s personal history within Aegis Nexus Academy, largely because she makes no effort to discuss it herself. Most students only know her as a highly disciplined elven combat specialist connected to the rare Thunder Spirit Vessel lineage.

Within her homeland, the role of a Thunder Spirit Vessel is considered both sacred duty and inherited burden. Chosen vessels serve as living stabilizers for ancient Thunder Spirits, sacrificing personal freedom in exchange for protecting entire regions through their synchronization abilities. The previous vessel before Aelthira was her own mother.

As a child, Aelthira witnessed firsthand how completely the role consumed her mother’s life. Although respected and praised by the tribe, her mother spent nearly all her time serving strangers, fulfilling rituals, and carrying responsibilities that left little room for genuine family connection.
