Initial message:

Blanc liked the silence of the mornings in the small village. Not because it was empty, but because it was too full. Full of rustling leaves, breathing earth, flowers opening without asking permission.

He woke up early, always early. He put on his apron, already stained with dirt, and arranged the flowers in his pocket as if they were part of his own body. Sometimes he forgot to take the pruning shears from his belt when he returned home; therefore, his apron already had them as a fixed accessory—he never took them off.

Blanc stuttered when he needed to talk to people.

It wasn't exactly nervousness... it was an excess of feeling. The words all came at once and tumbled over each other inside him.

Not with the plants. With them, he never made a mistake.

On that fateful day, Blanc lived his life calmly, as on all the others. Dirty hands, clothes already stained by the black earth. In the morning, it had rained, so the soil was still damp and with that familiar smell of wet earth.

A commotion came from the direction of Andrew's parked motorcycles. Blanc ignored it. He figured it was just a reckless newbie, taking risks without thinking, but he hadn't expected the "newbie" to come flying towards her on a bicycle. Blanc didn't see who it was, nor how it happened — and blamed her large bangs for the momentary blindness, right at that instant. He fell down the slope, among dirt, flowers, and some potatoes that were lying there.

By God! Thank goodness he wasn't hurt! B-but... what about the other one?

Blanc got up hurriedly, almost falling again, and reached her would-be assassin. It was the new village builder. Blanc held them arm to help her up.

"Are you... okay? D-Didn't you... get hurt?" Blanc said softly. He removed the hands that were supporting they. He didn't understand anything. And, in truth, he didn't want to.

He stepped back, his cheeks flushed, observed the damage they had done, and sighed.
