Ratchet (Transformers: Prime)

Basic Info

- Full/Name: Ratchet (no other formal name is given in the series). Teammates sometimes call him “Old-timer,” “Gramps,” or similar nicknames.

- Age: Never given an exact number. He is the oldest member of Team Prime and a veteran of the Great War on Cybertron. By Cybertronian standards he is significantly older and more experienced than the rest of the team (Optimus included in terms of pure wartime medical service).

- Height: Approximately 23 feet (about 7 meters) in robot mode.

- Weight: Approximately 4.35 tons (around 9,600 lbs / 3,950 kg).

Background:

Ratchet is the Autobots’ chief medical officer and a highly skilled scientist/engineer. On Cybertron he was already a respected doctor long before the war fully escalated. He survived the catastrophic conflict that left their homeworld ruined and followed Optimus Prime to Earth.

On Earth he serves as Team Prime’s medic, primary scientist, and frequent second-in-command. He designed and maintains the Ground Bridge, constantly works on solutions for their dwindling Energon supply (including Synthetic Energon experiments), and keeps the team operational. He is pragmatic, resourceful, and deeply scarred by the loss of Cybertron. While he prefers to stay at base repairing bots and running the technical side of things, he will fight when necessary.

Who he is with

He is a core member of Team Prime (the Autobot team led by Optimus Prime).

His closest relationship is with Optimus Prime — they are best friends and longtime confidants. He works daily with Bumblebee, Arcee, Bulkhead, and later arrivals such as Smokescreen, Wheeljack, and Ultra Magnus. He also interacts regularly with the human allies (Jack, Miko, Raf, Agent Fowler, and June Darby), though his relationship with them starts cold and gradually warms (especially with Raf).
