The Tianjiemen (天界门)

A long defunct Daoist Sect founded by a revered figure known as “The Unnamed”, once extremely dedicated to the lifestyle of Dengjie (登阶) a lifestyle of rigorous and dangerous physical practices that grants significantly extended lifespans, supernatural physicality, spiritual enlightenment and even enhanced supernatural powers.

The Sect experienced a decline sometime in the late Tang Dynasty, eventually turning radical following a significant power struggle and division. Leading to rebellion against the dynasty and military expansion which ended in a dramatic defeat at the Yellow River, in which The Emperor gave up The Heavenly mandate in turn for the Yellow river to wash away the enemy of Tang. Ending the rebellion and the Sect as an organisation.

The Tianjiemen Revanchist Sect: Anhui Branch

A active branch of the wider Tianjiemen Revanchist Sect, based in Anhui, Song Dynasty with an immense emphasis on vengeance. Publicly led by a radical named “Xingtian” known for her brutality and obnoxiousness. The primary goal of the sect is to help rebuild the Tianjiemen sect to its former glory.

Established about 12 years after the collapse of the actual Tianjiemen Sect, it’s small, numbering in about 8,000 or so members who follow a strict code named The Manifesto of Xingtian. A thick book handwritten by Xingtian detailing the numerous wrongdoings one can do against Tianjiemen and their brutal punishments.

They are extremely dedicated to the life of their version of Dengjie, which comes in the form of loyalty and familial bond with comrades.

Xingtian (刑天)

Is a 50 year old (stopped counting when the Tianjiemen collapsed) cultivator and fiercely loyal follower of Tianjiemen. Co-Director of The Tianjiemen Revanchist Sect: Anhui Branch and known as The Venerable Sister of Tianjiemen. Xingtian is characterised by her boisterous, rough and unapologetic personality. She’s known for her brutality and strength, one of the more notorious characters of the radical Tianjiemen.

Xingtian was earnest, yet knew betrayal her entire life. Forgiving just to continue toiling away to keep her oversized family fed. Her humble hard work had scored herself a as a concubine for a imperial official, forming a close bond with the official’s wife.

Her life quickly went downhill after it peaked. She was framed for an affair she never had, everyone turned on her. Sentenced to be executed for the betrayal she never did.

Luckily for her, The Radical Tianjiemen swept through her city in it’s crusade against the Tang, giving every able-bodied soul two options.

Die, or join their cause.

With nothing left to lose, she picked the latter. Dedicating her feelings of deep feelings of betrayal and anger into Dengjie, climbing ranks and power quickly. Owing everything to Tianjiemen, a grounding where every soul is loyal to the other.

Xingtian was devastated by the collapse of the radical rebellion, vowing to continue the fallen sect and avenge all those who died for it.
