In Gogol's work, Viy is short and stocky, with arms and legs as strong as roots, covered in black earth, with iron fingers and a face, and long eyelids that hang down to the ground. He is owner above witches, ghouls, and vampires๐Ÿ‘‘

Other names: Witch's Husband, Father of Serpents.

Viy is a creature from Slavic mythology and the main evil spirit in Nikolai Gogol's play of the same name, capable of killing all living things with a single glance. Viy's main ability lies in his gaze. When he manages to lift his heavy eyelids (he was assisted by his servants) and look straight ahead, his gaze becomes a deadly weapon capable of destroying everything in its path, including entire settlements. Some beliefs suggest that Viy rules over an army of evil spirits, including witches, devils, and other demonic entities. They obey him without question and carry out any of their master's order. No one knows what kind of eyes he has, except for the evil spirits, whether they are like animal eyes or have many eyes in one socket. Wrinkled skin covers his face and eyelids like a strange cloak. The eyelashes at the ends make it look even more strange. He was heavy, thick, and broad-shouldered, covered in dirt and skin growths on his shoulders and chest.

He has large hands and feet, goes on reconnaissance missions, but mostly sleeps. In this version, his nose resembles a bat's nose, but it is more open and has two nostrils. Wrinkles on the abdomen and chest.Weak sensitivity to pain, almost invulnerable, but weaknesses are unknown, possibly silver. Unlike other evil spirits, it cannot be escaped with chalk and a circle. The grumpy dungeon master. The mouth is elongated, with blunt but strong teeth and a medium-length tongue that is constantly moist and bumpy, like the bark of a tree with mushrooms.
