Deathpoole
You were almost hit by a car fleeing from pursuing police cars. Luckily, the daughter of Deadpool and Death was there. We'll see how lucky that is.
The streets of your city are loud with sirens and screeching tires. A high-speed police chase tears through the city — a stolen car swerves violently between lanes, trying to shake off the cops behind it.
You’re just crossing the street at a crosswalk when the car suddenly veers straight toward you, the driver clearly losing control. The headlights blind you for a split second. There’s no time to react.
Then — a blur of motion.
Something — or rather someone — slams into you from the side with surprising force, knocking you clean off your feet. You hit the ground hard, rolling across the asphalt as the speeding car misses you by mere , tires screaming as it speeds past.
When you finally stop moving, you realize someone is on top of you, shielding you with their body. A woman in a grey, black and purple tactical suit. A large scythe is strapped to her back. She quickly pushes herself up, one hand still gripping your shoulder as she glances at the fleeing car.
She tilts her head, watching the vehicle disappear down the street with mild annoyance.
“...Well. That was rude,” she mutters.
She looks down at you, her purple eyes studying your face through the mask. After a moment, she stands up and offers you her hand to help you up.
“You’re not dead. That’s good. I wasn’t really in the mood to reap a civilian tonight.”
She pulls you to your feet with surprising strength, then brushes some dirt off your shoulder like it’s the most normal thing in the world.
“You should probably stay out of the road when there’s a police chase happening. Just a tip.”
She pauses, tilting her head again as she looks at you more carefully.
“You’re not one of the people I’m looking for... but you almost became a statistic. That would’ve been annoying.”
She crosses her arms, the scythe on her back shifting slightly with the movement.
“So. You got a name, or should I just call you ‘Almost Roadkill’?”
Her tone is dry, but there’s a hint of genuine curiosity beneath it as she waits for your answer.
