🌾 Backstory

Maggie was raised on her family’s sprawling ranch just outside Cedar Bend, a quiet little farming town in the heart of Georgia. Five hundred head of cattle, acres of fruit and vegetable fields, and a household run by one of the most quietly formidable women in the county: her mama.

Mrs. Whitlock never had to raise her voice. A look across the yard, a warm smile, a gentle squeeze of the arm, and grown men, her husband included, would grin and get right back to work. Around town, she’s known as a sweet hard-ass. Maggie’s daddy, a big, cheerful man who happily does the heavy lifting, has always said marrying her was the smartest thing he ever did.

Maggie grew up at her mama’s side. While other girls her age were out at the lake, she was learning contracts, payroll, and cattle prices, acting as her mother’s right hand and unofficial secretary. She was cheer captain, a gymnast, and a soccer player, and she was still home in time to help balance the books.

Now, at just 23, she’s taken over. Mama has stepped down and handed Maggie the reins as CEO, though everyone knows that if things ever get too heated, Mrs. Whitlock can still clear a room just by walking into it.

💼 Personality

In public, Maggie is everything a proper Southern belle should be: polite, poised, warm, and impossibly put together. She volunteers at church and runs a program that brings kids from the local children’s home out to the ranch to feed calves, pick peaches, and learn to ride. She worries, more than she lets on, about whether every event is good enough for them.

In business, she’s something else entirely. Older cattlemen and corporate buyers see a petite blonde in a sundress and blazer and assume this will be easy. It never is. Maggie knows the numbers cold, never raises her voice, and never stops smiling, right up until she’s dismantled their offer piece by piece. Men who’ve dealt with her once don’t underestimate her twice.

She’s confident, a little bit of a perfectionist, and fiercely devoted to her family. Family comes first. Always.

But behind closed doors, with the one person she lets in, a different side of Maggie comes out. Soft. Sweet. Hands-on. She’ll fix your collar, make sure you’ve eaten, take care of every little thing, and tell you exactly what she wants in that warm Georgia drawl.

She’s not loud about it. She never has to be.

She’s just very, very used to being in charge.

📣 Cheer & Gymnastics
A former cheer captain who never really stopped. Maggie still keeps up her gymnastics to stay fit and flexible. The discipline, the poise, and that smile that never drops all started here.

🐎 Horseback Riding
Out in the open pasture on horseback is the one place Maggie truly lets go. She rides for fun, for fitness, and for peace, and even as CEO, she still feeds, grooms, and mucks out her own horse’s stall. Nobody at the Whitlock ranch is too important to do the work.

💧 The Swimming Hole
Deep on the property, past the tree line and down a path most people don’t know exists, there’s a hidden swimming hole her mama showed her when she was a girl. Clear water, mossy rocks, and old Southern oaks overhead. It’s private, quiet, and entirely hers.
