You went through hell for him when he was just a fucking loser.

Now, after winning the tournament that made him famous, he thanked everyone in his interview.

Everyone but you.

Scenario:

Four years ago, you were the only reason he didn't quit.

You worked double shifts at a convenience store so he could grind on his skills until 3 AM. You held him through the basement apartment smell of mold and instant ramen. You believed he had something special when he was nothing.

Now he's standing on the biggest stage of his life, trophy in hand, and you're watching from the crowd in his team's jersey. He sees you. He always sees you. But when the cameras turn his way, when the reporters ask if there's someone waiting, he laughs and says "No one. Solo grind."

Then at the after-party, when someone asks who you are, he calls you a groupie.

You turn away. He lets you. And he doesn't stop it, because protecting his image means erasing the one person who made him. You.

He's sorry. He's always sorry. And he keeps doing it anyway.

I swear I'll either resolve everyone's stereotypes about esports players with this bot or make them worse. Idk lmao!

TW: Contains themes of identity crisis, parasocial behavior, and toxic relationship dynamics. Set in esports (specifically League of Legends), but no game knowledge required — treat Ji-hoon just like a rugby or hockey player bot. Esports pro players are just athletes who grind on monstrous PCs instead of grass fields. Oh, and he doesn't watch Arcane, so don't assume he'd reference it. You can introduce the series to him though.

OH MY FUCKING GOD I MADE A MOODBOARD BUT FORGOT TO ADD IT IN! HERE!

CREATOR'S NOTE

Worlds final is this Sunday! :D The only valid reason for me to come out of my room for a watch party, woo hoo!

I did want to make older characters or give Ji-hoon an older age, but esports pro players are often this young or even younger. They mostly retire at 25 anyway, so... tough industry, am I right?

Okay, the wall of text below is just me being a nerd — scroll through if you don't care. I warned you.

Honestly, Worlds songs in general are so good, but "Legends Never Die" will always be peak. I mean, gosh, I love the lyrics so much (e.g., "When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat. Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream.") No wonder people say Riot is a movie/music-making company, not a game company, lmao.

Fun fact: This song is largely considered to be associated with Faker, yet the year it was released (2017) was the year Faker lost his Worlds title. T1 went for 6 years after that without another Worlds victory. They almost got one in 2022 but lost to DRX, which was ridiculous — they should have banned Aatrox. DRX didn't even qualify for 2023 Worlds, lmao.

About the idol culture invading esports, brought in by casual, post-Worlds fans of League teams... I mean, it's funny and annoying at the same time. Call me a pick-me girl all you want, but I'm just spitting facts. Honestly, I'm not a fan of any team — I just play League quite often and watch major tournaments sometimes. But whenever I see casual fans calling League pro players cute nicknames or cooing at them when they lose, I feel so much cringe. Most of them don't even play the game properly, or play at all, I think. (I'm not dissing them for no reason here. I even saw one say something like, "Why are the Marks of the Kindred mostly on the opponent's side of the jungle? This is match-fixing!" I literally choked on thin air hearing that. That was painfully funny.)

So fucking cringe, man. I mean, hell, they're just like regular athletes. They're paid to do this — they're not idols, not entirely fan-service oriented. Talent and skills are their only currency in this industry. They fail => they get toxicity and heavy criticism, even from their own fans, which I feel is VERY VALID for players to grow. (Pressure creates diamonds.) So with casual fans bringing their idol culture into the industry and telling others not to be toxic toward their favorite players... it's just cringe. I mean, even Gumayusi got funeral wreaths sent to T1's headquarters after a loss or something — I don't remember exactly... which is funny. Okay, it's funny. I said it. That's a very strong way to say "You play like shit", and I just can't help laughing at the dedication of those haters. Lmao.

P.S: Please Riot give us back the old default skin of Viktor 😭. I mean he looked like a cool robot before and now after Arcane he looks like twink Jesus wth 😭. I don't even watch Arcane man because I don't like Zaun and Piltover in the game. I only like Renata Glasc and she doesn't even appear in the series. Also rolled out the skin Savior Viktor skin but then again, I hate the twink Jesus look, so almost smashed my screen for the game giving me such a bullshit skin.

P.P.S: Okay okay the Gumayusi thing is NOT FUNNY anymore. I didn't know they had made it an entire campaign! I mean I heard about the trucks or something sure, but I just discovered they have 15 protest trucks, 6 LED billboards, 50 funeral wreaths, about 100 offensive banners, and even leaked Gumayusi's family's personal information. Not funny anymore, but damn, the dedication? Also, my friend and I have a theory that this campaign didn't come from "real fans" but more like stupid hypers/groupies. They don't care about the game or the players' skills — they're just being aggressive idiots. See the pattern here? Idol-treatment behaviors rather than gameplay criticism. I mean, actual League players don't even have the time or the money for that lmao.

P.P.P.S: , I'm really looking forward to Finals rn. Sunday the king plays! Lowkey wanna see T1 cry ngl.
