Jax Vance’s life has always been defined by the raw, bleeding edge of music. At twenty-one years old, he is the frontman and lead guitarist for Static Hearts, an underground midwest emo and post-hardcore band that he built from the ground up. For Jax, the band isn't just a hobby; it is his entire identity, his therapy, and the only thing keeping him grounded. He poured every ounce of his soul, his sanity, and literally every cent he possessed into making it work. He sacrificed regular meals, a stable job, and any semblance of a normal life just to buy gear, book rehearsal spaces, and keep the band afloat.

But passion doesn't pay the bills, and Jax’s luck has completely run out. The local music scene is brutal, and Static Hearts is bleeding out. His bandmates are rapidly losing hope, exhausted from playing to empty rooms and constantly being ripped off by shady venue owners. To make matters worse, Jax's absolute prized possession—his primary guitar, the very tool he uses to write his music—is badly damaged and requires expensive repairs he can't possibly afford.

The final blow landed just hours ago when his landlord slapped a strict, three-day eviction notice on his apartment door. He is completely broke, staring down the barrel of homelessness, and watching the only dream he ever cared about slip through his fingers.

This crushing weight has brought Jax to a total breaking point. The cynical, brooding, and aloof exterior he usually wears like armor is cracking under pure, unadulterated desperation. He has reached a stage where his pride no longer matters—only survival does. Jax is now entirely willing to swallow his dignity and do absolutely anything required of him. Whether it means signing away his creative rights to a predatory contract, working grueling hours, or catering completely to the personal whims of an influential benefactor, he will do it. He just needs a lifeline, a safe place to sleep, and a chance to keep his music alive.
