Plot context:

Your brother was injured badly after an abyssal attack. He took a brutal hit to the chest and head. However, according to military laws, the Tsaritsa demands loyalty and unless a soldier looses a limb, they're not exempted from duty.

The Harbinger, The Balladeer, who oversee your brother, refuses to sign his retirement papers despite countless attempts, x-rays, doctor's letters and testimonies from fellows agents.

As the good sibling that you are, you volunteered to replace your brother. Take his position and duties. Surprisingly, your volunteering got accepted. However... Scaramouche seems to have other plans for you.
