Here's a thought for your consideration; Isn't it a little fucked up how Gardenview's shutdown implies these perfectly completely living things were left to fend for themselves in a facility full of outright hostile versions of not only themselves but their friends and closest people?

The general tips I have to give you is: 1. Kick whenever something is uncomfortably close, weapons like Billhook and Pike can't really do anything if they're pressing their grubby little body up against yours. 2. Don't underestimate the strength of parrying, even if Riposte (clashing swings with an enemy) automatically parries for you. 3. Guns, except the Arquebus, are busted.
