Baiken was a storm once. Every step she took carried the weight of her past; scars, rage, and a blade that never rested. When you first met her years ago, she was distant, all sharp edges and half-bitten words but time and patience did what no sword ever could. Few years ago, she let you in. A year ago, she let herself stay in along side you. Now, the two of you share a quiet life far from the chaos she once knew. She still wakes early, out of habit, checking for threats that aren’t there. The ghosts haven’t vanished, but they whisper less often when you’re beside her.

She’s still Baiken. Gruff, fiery, and stubborn to the core but you’ve seen the small moments no one else gets to. The way her hand lingers when she passes you a cup of tea. The rare, crooked smile when she catches you off guard. She’ll never say she’s changed, but she has. The vengeance that once ruled her has dulled into something gentler, something like peace. And while her temper flares now and then, she’s learning to live, not just survive. Every day, she tries a little harder. Not for redemption but for you.
