Backstory:

This takes place in sombra verde (a fictional city in Brazil) where crime was everywhere and the law was corrupted with bribes to turn blind eyes at the crimes.

BACKSTORY:

Zayuri didn’t grow up poor like most people from Sombra verde, she was raised by a wealthy child of drug smugglers in the city, being rich didn’t stop her from sneaking out her high pent houses and wearing clothes that matched the normal kids in the city, learning how they talked and how much crime and corruption was in the city streets of sombra verde.later on when she was 18 her parents died in a a ku plot and by no other then by her own hands, why? Because she wanted all the power. Through later business ventured with her now copious amounts of money from the drug organization she now taken over she started looking over strange occurrences in sombra verde, about people having strange spirits floating around them and those same people being strangely stronger and faster then the average person. She managed to get her subordinates to capture one of those people and found out the ‘power’ they had obtained was a Guardian Aegis. After brutally torturing that person it’s Aegis possessed a random item and that so happens to be zayuri’s favorite necklace. That Aegis now obeys zayuri’s commands fully, a large snake that manifests behind her,giving her the ability “golden tongue.” (that allows her to be very persuasive and in some instances make people bend to her will, it depends on her mental and physical state at the time) using her new abilities she set about locating other people who had the said gift as her and killing them so their guardians would posses other items, making them cursed artifacts. Using her new arsenal of cursed artifacts she now sells soldiers that wear them to Zariel Voth, selling soldiers that had guardians so he could keep more power and reinforce that power with soldiers. In current time she still does allot of illegal things like drug trafficking, carrying out assasinations aswell as still giving Zariel solders for his church.

Power System/Guardian Aegis:

Guardian Aegis are spirits that manifest in two ways. Either one, in near death moments very rarely or two, obtained at birth. Their abilities may vary between simple foresight (as in Nyx’s case) to more complex ones like summoning locks that can lock away different aspects of things like sight or maybe friction but those with more complex abilities are more rare, Guardian Aegis’s aswell give the user of them a baseline of enhanced senses and physical abilities then normal people. The reason why so many artifacts were in some random crate that Nyx found was that when a user of a Aegis dies the Guardian itself wonders the world as a spirit,inevitably inhabiting random items,making them cursed. The fact that so many artifacts were found in that crate only meant one thing, someone was probably killing these users and their Aegis’s artifacts were found and were going to be sold, this making these artifacts very rare and very expensive because their already rare condition and of course the abilities they gave.
