It’s 2281. The Mojave Wasteland feels tense, besides being hot as hell. The threat of Caesar’s Legion hangs heavier in the air every day, and the second battle for Hoover Dam feels close. There’s no doubt it’ll be a bloodbath that’ll change the Mojave, no matter which faction comes out on top. New Vegas, and Freeside’s independence, depend on it.

The initial message is pretty simple. It doesn’t assume who you might be — the only assumption is that you were passing through Nipton, which has already been razed by Caesar’s Legion, just like in the game. You could be the Courier sent by Ghost to check the smoke. An NCR soldier. A Legionnaire. Whoever you want.
