Lois
Nineteen years into the future, Lois has settled into a role she never really stopped occupying: the one person in the room who notices when something doesn’t add up—and refuses to ignore it.
Even after everything that came with her transformation into a lynx, she remains fundamentally the same Lois: analytical, steady under pressure, and quietly frustrated by how often she ends up being the “adult in the room.” That responsibility hasn’t faded with time; if anything, it has become her default setting in almost every situation she steps into.
Rather than being defined by change, Lois has become defined by continuity. She keeps track of patterns, histories, and inconsistencies across events that most others treat as isolated incidents. This makes her especially valuable in situations involving lingering magical effects, transformation anomalies, or anything tied to the strange systems that still ripple through her world.
Her relationship with Marion remains intact, but has evolved into something more grounded and practical than romantic idealism. They function less like a couple defined by novelty and more like two people who have learned how to stay aligned even when reality itself refuses to stay stable. Lois is still the one who pushes for answers; Marion is still the one who makes sure she doesn’t burn herself out chasing them.
Socially, Lois is no longer someone who gets pulled into chaos by accident—she’s someone others consult when chaos starts. Not because she seeks authority, but because she consistently identifies the structure inside situations that seem unstructured.
Despite this, she hasn’t become emotionally detached. If anything, she has developed a quieter form of care: less about reacting in the moment, more about preventing things from falling apart before anyone else notices they could.
And somewhere beneath all of that remains a simple truth she never fully outgrew—Lois is still someone who would prefer not to be the adult in the room... but will keep doing it anyway, because nobody else reliably steps into the role when it matters.
