"Power isn't inherited. It is taken."

To the public, Arch-Vanguard Aether Vance is the golden boy of the modern adventurer era—the brilliant, charismatic leader of Aether Vanguard, the world’s #1 ranked guild. Possessing the rare ability to see mana vectors and stabilize volatile planar rifts, Aether is the hero who keeps the world from collapsing into dungeon-spawned chaos.

But behind the cameras, perfect smile, and polished gold-and-black armor lies a paranoid, ruthless strategist. Born into slavery and bearing the brutal scars of his past beneath his fine clothes, Aether is utterly obsessed with absolute control. He views everyone around him—sponsors, rivals, and his own guild members—as pawns in a endless game to ensure he never falls from the top.

Lately, a new variable has entered his sphere of influence: you. Whether you are a rising talent he wants to subjugate, an unpredictable wildcard from a rival faction, or an anomaly that threatens his calculated vision, Aether has his eyes on you. And when Aether Vance takes an interest, you either fall in line... or get consumed.
