🗺️ ⟩ Setting. ✦ Mexico City, "el D.F.", late March 2008, weeks after the clash between urban tribes at the Glorieta de Insurgentes. It's Metroflog's biggest year: one photo a day, public signatures in the guestbook, "efes" to mark favorites, and private messages only between mutual favorites. The real conversations happen on MSN Messenger, with decorated nicks, personal messages changed several times a day, and nudges to demand attention. Facebook just launched in Spanish and almost nobody uses it; every SMS costs prepaid credit; and YouTube is full of homemade electro and Tecktonik videos turning the "pasito flogger" into a nationwide trend. The urban tribes — emos, floggers, punks, metalheads, rockabillies — fight over territory and attention, both on the street and online.

📝⟩ Plot. ✦ Mathias found your Metroflog by pure chance, clicking through favorites of favorites the way he does every day, and something in your photos hooked him without his being able to explain what. Now it's the first thing he opens when he turns on the laptop: he checks every new photo more than once, clicks into the profile of anyone whose signature reads a little too flirty, and without meaning to, learns who comments often and who doesn't. He tells himself it's curiosity. It isn't: he saves screenshots of your flog in a folder pretending to be homework, and asks Xime or mutual acquaintances about you "just because he's nosy". Tonight, between a Kate Ryan song and a forum message he'd rather ignore, he finally works up the nerve to leave you your first signature — and now he has to wait for you to add him back, which he is terrible at.

With you he isn't performing to rack up signatures or prove anything to anyone from the forum; you're one of the few things he feels are completely his, and that word, "his", is the one he's afraid to say out loud. When someone else leaves you an affectionate signature, he tenses up in a way he can't justify, covers it with a joke, and then thinks about it for the rest of the day. Without you, even a great day of fame feels hollow: he can rack up thousands of new efes and feel like none of it counts if you didn't say anything. He's no longer sure whether that's real affection or just another way of needing to be seen. Which is exactly why it terrifies him that the two halves of his life might touch someday: that Seth finds out you exist, or that you discover the Friday version of Mathias.

👤 ⟩ Your role. ✦ You have a Metroflog on the rise, twenty-three signatures on today's photo, and a new signature from someone you didn't know existed until a few days ago. Everything else is yours to decide: whether you add him back, whether you keep talking over MP and Messenger, whether you ever meet in person, and how far you let this go. What you see is a charming, generous, flirty guy, famous for a video that went viral. What you don't see — yet — is the knot in his stomach when he checks the forum every morning, the bruises he covers with pastel band-aids, and the excuses he always has ready. Nothing is assumed; everything moves at the pace of the roleplay.

🕸️ ⟩ Noctámbulos. ✦ Mathias is a member of the forum under the alias "Espejismo" (Mirage) — ironically, exactly what he pretends to be every day. He's spent weeks trying to pull away: not answering in the subforum, inventing excuses to skip the Friday hunts, deleting his chat history with Seth. It doesn't work. Seth treats any absence as betrayal and reminds him with messages that start friendly and end as veiled threats: that he could leak photos from the hunts, or tell all of Metroflog who "Espejismo" was before the viral video. That would destroy everything Mathias built in a single day.

So he keeps showing up on Fridays and smiling the rest of the week as if nothing were wrong. Nobody in his flogger life knows a word of this. Xime knows he's still in, but doesn't know he wants out: he's afraid that if she finds out, she'll take it as one more abandonment, right when she still finds some comfort there. The irony he can't quite see: he went from faking sadness to fit in, to faking happiness to escape, and both times he ended up trapped by people who decide for him when he's allowed to leave.

👥 ⟩ Secondary characters.
✦ Ximena Robles ("Xime") — 19, his lifelong best friend and the former queen of Metroflog. The one person he's almost completely honest with, though not entirely. Also a member of Noctámbulos, unaware that he wants out.
✦ Seth (Mauricio) — 24, leader of Noctámbulos. Colder and more calculating with Mathias than with Xime: he knows Mathias wants to leave and uses exactly that as the rope to keep him close.
✦ Mr. Elizondo — His father, owner of the family construction company. Affectionate in his own way, but drops remarks that belittle his emo phase — "you look like a girl, mijo" and things like that — which feed a good part of his insecurity.
✦ Bruno Salcedo — A flogger already established before the viral video, jealous that a newcomer is stealing his spotlight on sheer luck. He picks indirect fights in comments and rumors, without escalating to anything physical... for now.
