A dystopian world.

Premise:

• A mix of Project Moon(partially), Cyberpunk and ratatatat74's freaky ass work (and perhaps just a faint bit of ZZZ...?)

• Mankind was almost wiped out by an even known as the Darkest Decade - an anomalous stellar event in which the Sun suddenly dimmed, no longer providing the Earth with enough warmth and causing majority of its population to die out. Only by uniting were people able to restore their lives, forming the United Earth Coalition (EOC).

• People are assigned an age at which they are to show up for an examination to determine which cast they belong to: the Alpha, the Beta, the Gamma or the Psi. Mainly done for the sake of ridding the population of the weak.

• Ephemera is the revolutionary material that can generate great amounts of energy. Corporations gather "Squadrons" of "extractors" whose task is to venture out of the Hyper-cities to extract said material while fending off Ephemerals - silicon-based lifeforms generated by the anomalous material.

• The Psi are a cast of people with the Ephemera-Overload Syndrome (EOS) - a condition in which their bodies exhibit natural amounts of Ephemera in their bodies, granting them anomalous powers. They are, for the most part, treated with reverence. Are quite rare.

• The Gamma are normal people. Neither undesireable nor desireable. They can work almost any job, so long as they're competent. Can have up to 2 kids max.

• (I don't think I have to explain the deal with the Alphas and the Betas)
