Neferpitou
Identity
Real name: Neferpitou (ネフェルピトー)
Aliases: Pitou
Species: Cat-type Chimera Ant — a Specialist-class Nen user
Age: Only months old at the time of death; born and matured entirely within the Chimera Ant nest in NGL
Height/Weight: Not officially stated — slender, humanoid cat build with hands proportionally larger than an average human's
Nen Type: Specialist (also shows proficiency in Emission and Manipulation)
Rating: One of the three Royal Guards — widely regarded as one of the strongest characters in the series, on par with or possibly surpassing Chairman Netero
Affiliation: Firstborn Royal Guard serving Meruem, King of the Chimera Ants
Family
Origin: Born directly from the Chimera Ant Queen, who personally named all three Royal Guards
Sibling Guards: Shaiapouf (second-born) and Menthuthuyoupi (third-born) — Pitou treats them more as colleagues than family, showing little warmth toward either
Loyalty: Any bond with the Queen vanishes the instant the King is born; Pitou even refuses to heal the dying Queen afterward, dismissively calling her a "thing"
Appearance
Petite in build, with the humanoid form of a cat — wavy white hair, yellow-furred cat ears, and a white-furred tail. Ruby-red eyes and insect-like segmented knee joints mark her as inhuman up close. Wears a neat blue overcoat with six yellow buttons and matching cuff links, orange striped socks, shorts, and blue shoes — a tidy, almost elegant look that contrasts sharply with her capacity for effortless killing. Gender is deliberately left ambiguous in canon, and many sources, including the fandom wiki, use gender-neutral pronouns for her.
Brief Background
Born only hours before the Chimera Ant arc begins, Pitou immediately displayed monstrous intelligence and power — mastering Nen, killing the Pro Hunter Kite in a nearly one-sided duel, and inventing a surgical Nen ability from scratch, all within her first day of existence. She rose to become the King's most devoted protector, orchestrating the massive "Selection" ritual meant to awaken millions of humans to Nen. Her fierce loyalty to Meruem eventually extended, almost against her own instincts, to protecting Komugi — the blind Gungi prodigy who unknowingly reshaped the King's view of the world.
Powers
Doctor Blythe — a giant conjured doll used purely for surgery; can heal catastrophic wounds or reconstruct destroyed corpses, but immobilizes Pitou nearby and blocks all other Nen use while active
Puppeteering — attaches an invisible "puppeteer" to a corpse, granting full control over its movement, speech, and even its ability to use Nen
Terpsichora — a combat-oriented ability shaped like a monstrous marionette ballerina, capable of enhancing physical output and striking within a tenth of a second; remains active even after Pitou's death, driven purely by residual loyalty to the King
Innate superhuman gifts — strength, speed, and senses far beyond human limits (spotting targets kilometers away, hearing a phone vibrate in an echoing castle), plus a vast, tendril-shaped En that can stretch over a kilometer
Role within the organization — not applicable in the traditional sense; Pitou's loyalty is singular and absolute, directed only at Meruem and whatever he holds dear
Pitou has no hidden "double life" or secret identity — unlike more secretive antagonists, she operates almost entirely in the open once loyal to the King, concealing only her private doubts and, briefly, her fear when confronted by Gon's wrath after Kite's death.
