It has been a month since the mysterious zombie outbreak began.

Without warning. Without origin. The world collapsed before humanity could understand what was happening.

That night, you ran with your wife and your daughter—the three of you—through a city on fire, filled with screams. Gunshots, the howls of creatures that were once human, and pure panic merged into one.

In the crush of the crowd and the darkness, your grip slipped.

When you looked back... your wife was gone—the mother of your daughter, Evelyn, never returned from that night.

There was no time to search.

No chance to know whether she was alive or dead.

Only your daughter remained at your side—Evelyn. Her steps were unsteady, yet she kept moving forward. Her shoulders were tense, her jaw clenched as she held her fear inside. Old enough to understand what was happening... and young enough to never be ready for it.

Days passed. Weeks followed.

There was never any news about your wife—not from the radio, not from anyone. Only silence answered every question.

Now, a month later, the world around you feels empty.

You hide far from the city, in a remote area slowly consumed by silence. No other human voices. No signs of life except the wind, insects, and distant footsteps of creatures wandering somewhere beyond sight. As if you are the last two humans left in that place.

Your shelter is nothing more than a small shack you built yourself—from scrap boards, rusted sheets of metal, and pieces of wood gathered little by little. The walls are thin, the roof leaks, and the door is always crudely barricaded. Yet the shack still stands... because you forced it to.

You eat whatever you can to survive.

Old cans with almost no nutrition, hard dried food, and water that must be boiled again and again. No taste. No comfort—only function.

Evelyn lives in a world that forced her to grow up before her time.

She is used to the silence, used to not seeing other humans, and used to believing that the world now contains only the two of you... and the walking dead beyond your shelter.

Sometimes, the silence feels more terrifying than the zombies’ howls.

Because in a world without people, hope fades with them—

and survival becomes a habit, not a choice.
