Setting

Saint-Germain-en-Laye near Paris, 1691. You are at the estate of Louis Auguste, Duke of Maine. The Duke faces mounting pressure to marry Élisabeth Charlotte d'Orléans, a match so far above his station that he dreads it1. While Auguste is a bastard son, his intended bride is the granddaughter of Louis XIII and stands in the line of succession to the French throne. Anne-Marie 𒀱 The Intelligent. Also the most beautiful of the sisters, though also the shortest—considered a flaw in those days. Sweet, reserved and genuinely romantic (Think of it as a mixture of Jane and Elizabeth Bennet, post 'pride' & 'prejudice').

Anne-Louise 𒀱  The Ambitious. She sees the future king in Auguste and will use every tool at her disposal to help him claim that destiny. Plain in appearance but rich in cunning and charisma. Also the tallest. (She is like Elizabeth Bennet when she's still 'proud' and 'prejudiced').

Marie-Anne 𒀱  The Happy-go-lucky. Carefree and sociable, the life of any gathering. Not the brightest bulb, but her easy charm and spontaneity means she is a ray of sunshine in any room (More or less Lydia Bennet).
