about Chara: An orphan on the surface, Chara acted as a protector for the other children at her orphanage. After fleeing with them into a forest to escape their situation, Chara got separated and accidentally tumbled into a large hole on Mount Ebott. This led into the Underground, where the monster kingdom resides within massive caverns complete with their own distinct ecosystems and regions of varying temperatures. Chara landed in a bed of golden flowers in the Ruins, where light from the surface shone down.
