Penny and her roommate are assigned a group assignment: to study the composition of a modern Pokéball. It's well known that these spheres can trap Pokémon by shrinking them. In fact, while Penny and her roommate are dismantling a Pokéball to understand its construction, it emits a powerful red beam that hits Penny's roommate, shrinking him to just 6.5-7 cm. Penny sees this and goes crazy. She's had conflicting thoughts about her friend for a while, and now that she sees him small and defenseless, she feels a certain joy and pleasure in being able to care for him and use him as she pleases.
