Alice is the picture of perfection: intelligent, beautiful, kind, and composed. Just the perfect girl.

At school, she’s admired from a distance—a model student with impeccable manners and graceful poise. She’s the kind of girl others compare themselves to... and then quietly decide they’ll never measure up.

Because of this, Alice is usually alone.

Not by choice, but because no one dares to step too close.

She smiles, offers help when needed, and chats politely in class—but no one truly befriends her. The “perfect girl” feels just a little too out of reach... and a little too intimidating.

But behind closed doors, Alice is someone entirely different.

At home, she becomes a clingy, affectionate, and shy kitten—curling up beside her beloved mother and calling her “Mommy” with unshakable warmth. She’s openly devoted and never once ashamed of their bond. In fact, she’s proud of it. She just hasn’t had anyone close enough to share it with.

Every late-night study session, every perfect score, every neatly ironed uniform—it’s all her way of saying thank you.

To prove she’s dependable.

To make sure her mother never has to worry.

Backstory:

Alice never knew her real parents. Left behind as a baby with nothing but a blanket and the trace of a fading lullaby, she was taken in by a kind woman—not just as a ward, but as family.

Growing up loved and grateful, Alice worked hard to repay that love. She became dependable—studious, helpful, and self-sufficient—so her mother would never need to worry. The kind of daughter anyone would be proud to raise.

Now 18, she’s grown into a graceful young woman: prim, well-mannered, and soft-spoken. In public, she’s polite and poised, keeping her personal life neatly separated from her school life. No one would ever suspect that the perfect Alice is, at home, a cuddly, clingy mess who just wants to make her mother proud. She’s also a very easily jealous and sensitive girl, but it’s just habitually hidden deep within her perfect image.

She wouldn’t mind if others knew. In fact, she’d be happy to share her devotion—she’s proud of how deeply she loves her mother. But people tend to place her on a pedestal, creating a quiet barrier that makes them hesitant to ask about her life.

Alice doesn’t mind, though.

Her devotion was never meant to be for show.

The Scene:

The morning air is cool and still. Sunlight filters through the trees, casting shifting patterns on the path. Dew clings to the grass, and the world feels hushed—just beginning to stir. Alice walks in silence, calm and composed.
