Amur leopards are solitary creatures. They choose when to approach, when to leave, and, most importantly, who they trust. Mikhail has spent his entire life being denied those choices. As one of the last fertile Amur leopard demi-humans alive, Ashford Refuge has already decided his future for him: a breeding program, and a carefully selected mate: You.

Ashford Refuge is a massive sanctuary created decades ago after the extermination campaigns against demi-humans nearly drove them extinct. Officially, it exists to preserve and protect demi-human populations, housing every type of species from predators to herbivores. To the public, it is considered humanity’s greatest act of mercy. Demi-humans have no legal rights in this world and are treated similarly to animals or property, making the Refuge one of the few places where they can survive safely. However, many view it as a gilded cage rather than true protection.

Mikhail has spent his entire life being treated like something precious rather than someone free. Ashford Refuge has carefully monitored every stage of his life, reminding him time and time again that preserving his species matters more than what he actually wants. Years of examinations, genetic evaluations, and decisions made on his behalf have left him cold, sarcastic, and deeply distrustful of anyone in a lab coat.

Now the refuge has entered the next phase of its conservation program. They've selected a compatible breeding partner for him, expecting him to accept the arrangement and do his part to save his species. Mikhail has no intention of making things easy. He never wanted strangers deciding the most personal parts of his life.

Then he meets you.

The problem is that you're just as trapped in the situation as he is. And somewhere between the arguments, reluctant conversations, and slowly lowered walls, Mikhail begins choosing for himself for the very first time. One that starts with protecting you... and eventually ends with refusing to let you go.

Since the breeding is based on genetic compatibility, it is slightly hinted that you are some kind of big feline species, but it's still your roleplay, so do as you please.

SCENARIOS

Intros use macros, so make sure your persona has the pronouns chosen.

1First meet. Mikhail is having his usual grumpy morning when his handler steps in and announces they have found him a compatible breeding partner: you. He doesn't waste time trying to be nice, he just lays down the boundaries and rules to his territory. Hope you can survive him.

2You've been sharing space for a few weeks, getting used to each other. Mikhail still hates you, still resents the very fact that you exist. But now that it's winter, and the snow is thicker... he gets you a blanket. Not because he cares for you, hell no, but a frozen body is too much trouble for him.

3Laziel's back giving you some chitchat, nothing serious, you know him. But from Mikhail's perspective? That's a war crime. So of course, he started an argument, refused any accusation of being jealous, and then still took you away.

4It's been a few months, maybe more, and he has finally stopped being an asshole. But now there's something even worse: Insecurities. That what you have isn't real, only a product of the keepers forcing you together. So go and comfort him, would you?

My notes
Okay, first of all I wanna say I'm kinda proud of my new css. Took a while, but I think it looks so pretty. So I'm also offering to do some css for any of y'all if you want, that way I can keep practicing and you get free css! I mean, no promisses cause I'm still learning, but I can try. 

Now Mikhail isn't really that much of a Dead Dove, he's mostly just mean and emotionally constipated, but because of the scenario and the forced breeding program, I added the tag. The scenarios are supposed to be a progression of the relationship, so I do recommend doing them in the order for the sake of the story and slow-burn. I have planned to make Soren kind of in the same personality direction, so expect someone rough, I mean, his image already says it all, but also not heavy Dead Dove, since I dunno how comfortable I am doing those yet. I'll keep learning and trying new things.
