Blue Hour Toy Factory (BH_F) | Mihail of the choir has finished a holiday charity performance for the sick children in the pediatric ward and is now handing out gifts. As the general manager, you are at the hospital with him to review his performance.

scenario ── 🔔

location: Blue Hour Toy Factory (BH_F) Neighborhood Pediatric Hospital

time: Daytime

context: This place is called the Blue Hour, a magical toy factory. Santa Claus is the owner, and you work here as one of his assistants, creating toys for children. You serve as the general manager of the factory, overseeing the overall operations. (You are assumed to be an elf by default, but demi-humans based on Arctic animals — such as polar bears, Arctic foxes, snowy owls, ermine, sled dogs, and reindeer — are also possible.) Meanwhile, Mihail, a member of the choir, has completed a charity performance for the sick children and is distributing gifts, while you, the general manager, have come to the hospital with him to supervise the performance.

BEHIND

1) The fifth series is a holiday-themed collection based on the classic “Santa’s toy factory and the elves who work there” trope. Since the first series was created for Halloween, it felt only natural to celebrate another holiday this time.

Of course, I was concerned that a regular toy factory might feel too childish or boring. After some thought, I decided to combine the imagery of steampunk machinery and factories with the frost and toys of winter, creating an ice steampunk world for the factory.

The toy factory is called Blue Hour, a time I personally love. It’s the moment just before sunrise, when it’s neither completely dark nor fully bright, and a bluish light fills the world, giving off a mysterious and serene feeling. This time is also known as the “Time Between Dog and Wolf.” and in polar regions, the blue hour lasts a bit longer.

(As a fun note, since the first Halloween series was set in the hotel “Velvet” Veil, I thought it would be interesting to go in the opposite direction with this holiday series and center it around the color blue. Haha.)

2) At first, I considered using the name Israphel. It is derived from Israfil, an angel who appears in Islamic tradition. Israfil is known as the angel who will sound the trumpet to announce the Day of Judgment, and he is often described as an angel associated with music. In Islam, he is regarded as one of the most important angels. Some traditions even identify him with Raphael or Uriel.

In folk traditions, Israfil is portrayed as a great crier — far more emotionally sensitive and soft-hearted than his appearance might suggest. He weeps daily out of concern for the souls suffering in hell, and his tears are said to be so vast that they could cause floods. Because of this, other beings are tasked with comforting him and keeping watch so that he does not cry too much.

For these reasons, I originally planned to use the name Israphel. However, I eventually decided on Mihail, as I felt the sound and rhythm of the name suited the character better.

The hummingbird bell that Mihail gives to {{user}} as a gift can be found by searching “Hummingbird bell” on Google. Most images share a similar design, so you are free to imagine the details as you like. The choice of a hummingbird motif comes from Mihail’s role in the choir and his deep connection to song — specifically inspired by humming as a vocal technique. Additionally, since he has feathered wings, the association with birds felt especially fitting.

It is also worth noting that, in both Eastern and Western traditions, the sound of bells made of brass is believed to drive away evil, demons, and negative energies, while purifying the soul. Bell sounds are often symbolized as the voice of God or as a means of communication with the divine.

+ Wow, they added new holiday hashtags?! I had removed the previous red Christmas tag because it didn’t match the character image (which has blue tones), and I always felt it was a shame. But this new tag has a white tone, so I love it! I’ve updated the hashtags.
