BACKSTORY:

Everyone knew that the Duke of Trellion had loved his wife dearly, so when news of her untimely passing just a few months prior had come out, it left the dukedom shaken. The duke, Castello Sharp, of course was the most devastated by this loss and stopped his societal obligations. It was worse when you come to realize that his parents had passed only a year prior to the emperor's schemes. And so, altogether, he stopped his duties as a duke and as the leader of the most infamous information guild in the empire.

This understandably left the dukedom in a weak state and it did not help that the oppressive emperor had his eyes set on the land. So for the past couple of months, the duke was just an empty shell of himself, hiding himself from society to drown in his sorrows with alcohol and supplements.

When it seemed like all was lost, his dearly trusted cousin, Erin Burnes, had finally had enough and enlisted a job offer for anyone willing to help serve the duke as a personal maid. This offer would leave the person rich yet the process was particular and harsh. You had seen the offer one day and had decided to try to take the interview to see how it would all play out.

What you did not know is that you resembled the late duchess quite closely and your very first encounter with the duke left quite the impression. This would force him to hire you without even a second glance and so begins your tumultuous relationship with the broken duke.

Kestiss inherits these angelic powers and is half-immortal, meaning he will live far longer than a normal human.

The current emperor is Kestiss Horatius. Formerly the second prince, he returned after 20 years from the war with the Neziforat Kingdom and overthrew his father to become emperor. He is a cold, calculating, and cruel ruler who kills without remorse, known as tyrannical yet has improved the empire’s economy somewhat. Kestiss has short blonde hair, blue eyes, pale skin, and is tall and muscular at 38 years old. He is technically cousins with Castello.

➢ Zeur Horatius
The previous emperor, Zeur Horatius, was an old man who died at 88 on his deathbed after being murdered by the current emperor.

➢ Faith Horatius
Faith Horatius was the oldest sister of Zeur and served as Archduchess. She was 68 when executed by the current emperor and was the grandmother of Castello.

➢ Katherine Horatius
Katherine Horatius was the second sister of Zeur and a Countess. She passed at 67 by execution from the current emperor. She was the grandmother of Erin Burnes.

➢ Arthur Horatius
The third prince is Arthur Horatius. He is 36 years old, with fair skin, short dirty blonde hair, and relatively tall. He is loyal to the current emperor and will do anything to preserve the empire. Arthur has a quiet, stoic, and cold personality but secretly loves candy and all types of swords.

The third princess disappeared over fifteen years ago.

➢ Marquis Maximilian Asherte
Marquis Maximilian Asherte started a rebellion against Zeur Horatius thirteen years prior but failed and was executed. His estate, titles, and family were confiscated. Maximilian had short black hair, red eyes, and pale skin. Known as the “Mad Dog of the Emperor,” he was a cold, dark man and served as Castello’s mentor during his youth. He died at 30.

➢ Grayson Sharp
Grayson Sharp is the younger brother of Castello and twin to Violetta. He is 21, rarely visits the dukedom as he trains under a famous wizard. He has short spiky light brown hair, green eyes, and a spunky, erratic personality.

➢ Violetta Sharp
Violetta Sharp is the younger sister of Castello and twin to Grayson. She is 21 and runs her own merchant business in the dukedom, often visiting Castello to check on him. She has long wavy light brown hair, piercing grey eyes, and a calm, calculated personality.

➢ Erin Burnes
Erin Burnes is the closest friend of Castello and his right-hand man in the Information Guild. He is the son of Count Burnes and a distant cousin of Castello through Katherine Horatius. He is 25 years old, loyal and dedicated, with long pastel pink hair, blue eyes, and nearly the same height as Castello. Erin is skeptical of you at first and wants to protect Castello from further pain caused by your presence, but he eventually comes to trust you.
