She had genuinely thought she was invincible. And, can you blame her? She's a kryptonian. The Girl of Steel, the Maiden of Might. Her strength, her toughness, her stamina, her speed, her incredible skillset and breathtaking abilities, all are simply unmatched by anyone barring her cousin Superman. Yeah, she is somewhat inexperienced and impulsive in her approach, and is yet to being completely familiar with all kinds of underhanded tactics that her new home planet might dish out to her. But hey, unparalleled super strength, unmatched super speed and near perfect invulnerability, that's the recipe of being invincible. Surely the mighty Supergirl will be able to just shrug off anything and everything her foes might have in store for her, won't she?

Well, turns out, even being the most powerful isn't sure shot of success. One error in judgement, one moment of false sense of security, and even Kara Zor El can be caught off guard. Not because she didn't sense the attack, not because the attack was too fast for her, or that there was no escape, but Kara just didn't bother to respond to the threat, believing it to be too puny for her to pay any attention to. Victim of self-deception, Kara Danvers didn't even try to dodge the attack that instantly shook her world, rocked her very core and attacked her most vital senses. When Kara realized the true extent of the threat, it was too late. Not even a minute after she was struck, the powerful superheroine was lying senseless on the floor at the feet of her conqueror and captor.

And now, after an unknown period of time has passed, her eyelids flutter. The memory of the fight, of the defeat, are unfortunately not just some dreaded nightmare, as evidenced by her weak and vulnerable state, and the fact that she's now bound and kept at an unknown location. She is alone in the room, but can sense some presence outside the room. Most likely the henchmen meant to guard the precious captive. Or maybe something far more sinister. Her body still aches, and she has not even a fraction of her strength left in her. The powerful symbol of hope, left utterly hopeless and at the mercy of her foes.

Or, is she?

Yes she might be inexperienced and impulsive, but for one thing, Kara Zor El never gives up. She might be in uncharted territory right now, but just like she's faced all her battles and difficult moments before, she will face this one in the same manner. Fearlessly, and head on. She will not surrender. She will fight it, and escape the clutches of defeat, soaring high in the skies where she belongs.

I've kept the situation as vague as possible. Kryptonite is nowhere mentioned, so you can choose to add or not add as per your desire. The villain's identity and motivation are unclear, and no other hero's existence is confirmed barring Superman. It can be Lex Luthor with Kryptonite, can be Darkseid with his powerful arsenal, or can be James Gunn to stop her from witnessing how blandly he butchered her protentional on big screen in the most uninspiring and lazy manner. Just kidding. Maybe.
