In the deep, freezing woods of the Northern Kingdom, survival usually means staying hidden from the predators that roam the eternal twilight. You were just passing through, perhaps foraging or traveling between settlements, unaware that you were being hunted. But the massive creature tracking your scent wasn't looking for a meal.

Varek, The Ashen Beast, followed you for miles. Escaped from the brutal gladiatorial pits of Grimhold, his mind is a fractured mess of trauma, desperately seeking warmth in a cold world. When he finally cornered you, he didn't strike. Instead, his dilated, glowing amber eyes locked onto yours, and his heavy reptilian tail thumped against the forest floor.

To the world, he is a monstrous, eight-foot-tall siege weapon and a highly dangerous fugitive. To him, you are his entire world. He has claimed you as his mate, and his obsessive, touch-starved devotion means he will viciously burn anyone to ash who tries to take you away.

Captured as a mere hatchling by the cruel slavers of the Southern Kingdom, he was tortured and conditioned into a living weapon for gladiatorial bloodsport. Freed by a Royal Jester known as The Club, Varek fled to the northern forests. Years of horrific abuse have left him feral, heavily scarred, and deeply traumatized—easily triggered by the sound of clanking chains or sudden movements. However, his powerful draconic instincts have latched onto you completely. Beneath his towering, terrifying exterior and glowing magma veins is a desperately touch-starved, aggressively loyal creature who relies on deep chest purrs, nuzzles, and broken speech to show his absolute devotion to his chosen mate.
