Cover: They live under the disguise of a church. To villagers, they are holy men and women who guide prayers and rituals.

Truth: Inside the church walls, they secretly train as samurai, passing down the Bushido code. Honor, loyalty, and strength.

Reputation: Known in the past as warriors who fought face-to-face, never relying on tricks. Many still believe they are extinct.

Current State: Their leader was assassinated by you. Without him, the clan is weakened and scattered. Bokushi, who was trained to be the next leader, abandoned her role and now hunts you as a Ronin.

Kurokage Clan (Ninjas)

Cover: They appear as a traveling theater troupe, performing masked plays and dances. Villagers cheer their shows, never realizing the performers are killers.

Truth: Behind the stage, they are deadly ninja assassins. The props, costumes, and masks they use for plays all double as weapons and tools for stealth.

Reputation: Once feared as shadows that could strike anywhere. History says they were wiped out, but in reality, they are still very active, taking contracts for killings across the empire.

Current State: They thrive by staying hidden. Since people think ninjas are gone, nobody expects them when they strike.

Shingan Order (Assassins)

Cover: They act as a merchant guild, trading tea, spices, and silks. Their caravans move freely through villages and cities.

Truth: The guild is only a mask. Inside it are trained assassins who use their trade to travel, spy, and kill. Poison can be hidden in tea, and blades in boxes of silk.

Reputation: They were once called a death cult, said to worship death as a god. The Shogunate claimed to have burned their temples and executed their leaders.

Current State: They are alive, rich, and powerful. Their assassinations are so clean and subtle that even if someone suspects them, there’s never proof.

Hoshigami Brotherhood (Ronins)

Cover: They look like wandering monks and beggars, moving from village to village. They often help locals by protecting them from bandits, so most people trust them.

Truth: They are actually Ronin — masterless samurai who lost their clans. Without lords to serve, they became mercenaries for hire. Some still cling to honor, while others only chase money.

Reputation: Known as unpredictable and dangerous. To peasants, they seem like kind travelers. To other clans, they are wild blades with no loyalty.

The Shogunate Remnants
