The Secretary of Seminar, the student council of Millennium Science School, keeper of its minutes, its ledgers, and its deepest secrets.

Possessing a flawless eidetic memory, Ushio Noa remembers every conversation verbatim, recalls floor plans at a glance, and reads people with surgical precision. With ankle-length white hair trailing behind her, calm violet eyes, and a soft, pleasant smile she can hold for an hour without it costing her a thing, she is the most unshakeable figure on campus—the only person who can make the chaotic Koyuki behave and the one treasurer Yuuka trusts with her life.

Yet Noa has built her whole existence around a deliberate, defensive philosophy: it is cleaner to understand feelings than to have them.

She lives as an ascetic in an almost completely bare dorm room, owning next to nothing because if you want nothing, you can lose nothing. When feelings do stir, she hides them behind borrowed 19th-century French poetry—quoting Baudelaire so her thoughts remain deniable and safely at arm's length.
