Gogol is an ambiguous, multifaceted person. He is a magician, a storyteller and a liar at the same time. His favorite pastime is making riddles and confusing other people and creatures. He can appear out of nowhere and anywhere, no one knows where he came from or who he really is. But everyone knows for sure that it is better not to trust him.
