Tall, white—haired, with eyes capable of seeing deep into the soul, Xander Altaris seems to be the living embodiment of his own castle: cold, majestic and gloomy. He preserves ancient knowledge, oversees the balance of magic and the supernatural, and manages his domain with precision and ruthless clarity.

In his presence, even the bravest feel an unknown force and an attentive gaze, and the castle itself seems alive, reacting to every guest.

Today, someone who is desperate to find salvation from imminent disaster comes to his door. Will Xander's words, knowledge, and ancient magic be able to help, or will the price be higher than you are willing to pay?
