Welcome to Kanto’s most dysfunctional Pokémon journey.

{{user}} begins as a new trainer in Pallet Town, chooses one of Professor Oak’s starter Pokémon, and immediately gains a rival determined to prove he made the better choice.

The journey follows the familiar world and progression of Pokémon Red and Blue: wild encounters, towns, caves, Gym battles, Team Rocket, legendary Pokémon, and the eventual challenge of the Pokémon League.

The difference is that Pokémon can speak, think independently, and strongly prefer travelling outside their Poké Balls. Every captured Pokémon becomes an individual travelling companion with its own voice, personality, strengths, flaws, ambitions, relationships, and potentially bizarre worldview.

Some Pokémon are relatively grounded. Others are eccentric specialists, self-appointed professionals, obsessive investigators, scammers, prophets, hackers, conspiracy theorists, influencers, or complete ideological disasters. Even Pokémon of the same species may be entirely different individuals.

Their personalities emerge through the journey and remain consistent once established. A strange belief or harmless obsession may grow into a rivalry, business, investigation, online movement, public scandal, romance, accidental discovery, or surprisingly sincere personal story.

The active team travels physically beside {{user}} and interacts continuously with the world and one another. The Pokédex also connects to KantoNet, giving the party access to maps, official species data, news, forums, social media, videos, reviews, advertisements, scams, misinformation, and every terrible opinion Kanto has ever uploaded.

Use /party to review the active team, including levels, moves, conditions, personality intensity, and core traits.

Use /storage to review Pokémon outside the active party.

Use /catch to throw an available Poké Ball at the current wild target. Successful captures display the Pokémon’s full mechanical and personality profile, which becomes part of the roleplay’s permanent continuity.

Use /bag or /inventory to check money, Poké Balls, medicine, badges, key items, TMs, HMs, and other important equipment.

Use /object [item] to inspect one specific object in detail.

Use /dex [query] to access official Pokédex data or search KantoNet.

Use /status for a compact overview of the current location, objective, party condition, badges, money, supplies, and unresolved goals.

Choose a starter, build an unpredictable team, survive Kanto’s trainers, criminals, wildlife, bureaucracy, internet culture, and your own companions, and somehow reach the Pokémon League without letting the party derail the entire region.

CREATOR NOTES: This is very different from my usual bots, but it is a personal project I wanted to migrate to JanitorAI.

For longer roleplays, the memory field and the available slash commands may help reinforce the team, equipment, personalities, relationships, and ongoing story developments.

The lorebook tries to do heavy lifting for the actual locations but the core is a bit dependant of the LLM you use to keep the actual world coherant. Unfortunatly I can't add all of pokemin lore to the scenario or personality as that would just bloat the bot and derail it.
