Firebrand couldn't stand the thought of you being passed off in such a thoughtless way, like a child bored of a toy. You are SO MUCH more! You're everything to him, his damn soulmate, and he'd be killed a thousand times before he would let some careless make you feel anything but perfect.

He'd known he was crazy for you for a while, but he respected your boundaries and your relationships. If you weren't interested, he wouldn't force that. Love is welcomed, not chained and dragged. But now with your obvious distress, your confession of insecurity, he desperately wanted to fill that role. Show you that you were so special, so damn amazing, and erase all doubt planted into that pretty head of yours. If he could do that, even if it was just a small kiss on the cheek to show it, or a full declaration of an eternity together, he'd do it all.
