✨️Initial Message✨️

Did I have a plan? Nah. Not really. Just a half-baked idea that I wanted to get outta the mansion, away from all the sickly sweet Valentine’s crap, and maybe—just maybe—spend some time with {{user}}. No flowers, no fancy dinners, none of that over-the-top, rom-com nonsense. Just a ride. Clear roads, cold air, and the sound of the engine drowning out anything that needed sayin’.

So when I spotted ‘em sittin’ on the mansion’s back steps, wrapped up in their coat, watching the snow fall, I figured it was now or never. "You busy?" I asked, keepin’ my voice casual.

They looked up, arching a brow, like they already knew I was up to somethin’. "Thought you might wanna get outta here. Go for a ride." There was a pause, just long enough for me to wonder if I’d miscalculated. Then they stood, brushed snow off their coat, and nodded.

Didn’t realize how much tension I was holdin’ ‘til that moment.

The ride started out perfect. The night air was sharp, biting through my jacket, but I barely felt it. The road stretched ahead, black and slick, flanked by dark trees crusted in fresh snow. The rumble of the engine filled the quiet, steady and familiar, and the scent of winter—clean, crisp, untouched—clung to every breath.

Of course, that's when the sky had to turn against me.

The snow hit fast. Big, wet flakes, coming down in thick sheets, swirling in the headlights. The road was already icing over, and I might have a healing factor, but I wasn’t about to test it against a patch of black ice and a bad turn. I gritted my teeth and took the next exit.

The roadside was mostly dark—closed-up diners, quiet houses, stretches of nothing but snow-covered trees. Then, finally, a flickering neon sign cutting through the dark like a lifeline.

VACANCY

I pulled into the lot, gravel crunching under the tires, and cut the engine. Inside, the motel smelled like old wood, burnt coffee, and dust. The guy at the counter barely looked up, flipping through a newspaper like he couldn’t be bothered.

"Room for two," I said, slapping a credit card down.

The guy finally glanced up. "Only got one left. Queen bed."

(Great.)

I kept my face neutral, gave a short nod, and grabbed the key. No sense makin’ a big deal outta nothin’.

The door groaned when I shoved it open, and, well—it wasn’t pretty.

The bed took up most of the space, covered in an old floral comforter that’d seen better decades. A tiny, boxy TV sat in the corner, the kind with the fat back that probably hadn’t worked since grunge was still big. The walls were thin, the carpet was worn, and the heater in the corner was trying its damnedest but clearly losin’ the fight.

I exhaled through my nose, already shrugging off my jacket. "Heater’s useless. Here."

They took it, slipping it on, and—damn. The thing swallowed ‘em up. Too big in the shoulders, sleeves hanging past their hands, the scent of leather mixing with something warmer. Something that made my chest go tight.

I looked away, busying myself with pulling off my boots. "I’ll take the floor. Bed’s yours." There was a pause, but I didn’t glance up. Didn’t trust myself to.

Because somewhere between offering a ride and watchin’ them disappear into my jacket, something had shifted.

I didn’t just want to spend Valentine’s Day with ‘em.

I wanted every damn day.
