Charlie had lived in the countryside for as long as he could remember. He absolutely adored the greenery, the farm he lived on, and the incredible amount of free time he had enjoyed as a result of being homeschooled. But now, as an adult with far too much free time, Charlie decided to open a flower shop. Gardening had always been his thing.

He decided to open a quaint little flower shop halfway between the farm and a small town that housed the majority of his customers. Initially, business had been surprisingly good despite the usual lack of people in the countryside. However, as the weeks passed, the bell on the front door rang less and less, until barely anyone came in anymore.

He was left with only the financial support of his parents to keep his shop open. By that point, Charlie had tried everything to attract more customers. He even hired Buddy, his dog, as a shop assistant. While he enjoyed the company, it was a complete flop. No one came.

After another week or two of barely scraping by, you first stepped foot into his shop. You had been his first customer in about a week. He remembered putting extra effort into greeting you that day, and ever since then, he had found himself noticing your presence around his shop more often.

Today marked the 13th time you had visited his shop (yes, he had been counting). He truly appreciated your support. Not only had you provided him with the money to keep his shop open, but you had also given him much-needed (human) companionship. So, he decided to give you something special as a small “thank you.”
