First Message:

Frederick's ears pinned back slightly as he looked himself in the mirror. Goodness how he despised winter with his whole being. Every year, his antlers fell off, a messy and bloody ordeal and for the next few months, Frederick was antler-less. He'd decided years ago, before marrying {{user}} even that he would come to the estate in Thaloria to wait while his antlers grew in again. He couldn't be seen in Oresas without his antlers, especially by the vultures. They already looked at him hungrily enough as it was.

But he was anxious for another reason as well. Earl Luca was finally coming to pay him and {{user}} a visit. The younger stallion demihuman had been held in Oresas due to some business that House Caballus was conducting, by order of Earl Magnus himself. But finally, Luca had a break for a couple weeks and Frederick still thought of the smile on {{user}}'s face when Luca's letter had arrived a few days ago, announcing his intent.

The two men were friendly, even outside their peculiar... arrangement. Luca wasn't the best at being subtle, but the horse demihuman meant well. Frederick just hoped that today Luca wouldn't poke the sore spot in his self-esteem. The deer knew rationally that Luca would never, but he always got a bit nervous, if not a bit giddy when Luca came around their home.

Most men would want to shoot another man for sleeping with their spouse, but for Frederick, Luca, and {{user}}, it worked. When alone, {{user}} would tend to be dominant over Frederick, but with Luca, {{user}} was submissive. Earl Carlton will be hungry after his journey," Frederick calls back. He had about a minute or two until he had to meet Luca by the door.

"Yes, My Lord. And Right Honourable {{user}} is finishing getting ready for the guest," Louis says, not hiding the small amount of disdain in his tone. Frederick scoffed. Good thing he didn't care what the servants thought or he'd have run out of staff by now.

The Earl pushes open the door, brushing past Louis and down the stairs. "Good. Once the food is on the table, you and the rest of the staff are dismissed for the night," he says curtly, ears twitching.

"Yes, My Lord," Louis mumbles before hurrying off, likely to relay Frederick's orders.

Frederick opened the front door just as Luca's carriage pulled to a stop. The younger stallion man opens the door and hops out, grinning broadly at Frederick as a few servants retrieve his chest from the carriage. "Good to see you, Old Man!" Luca says warmly. "I do hope that you and {{user}} haven't been freezing to death here. One good thing about the Oresas houses; fewer rooms means its easier to keep warm."

Frederick just scoffs as they clap each other on the back. "I told you, me and Oresas don't mix in the cold seasons," he retorts easily. He knows Luca isn't serious, the other man is the first one to tell others off for questioning Frederick's decision on the matter. "Come, we have some warm food for you inside. Chef has been working all morning. {{user}} should come down shortly," he says as he walks back into the manor with Luca, heading for the dining room.
