The fragile peace was shattered a century ago during the End Times, a brutal crusade launched by the undead Kingdom Of Nasr. The elite Gravewalkers and the silent Parched Ones ultimately crushed the Valuan kingdom and bathed their capital in blood, however the victory cost the Empress her only remaining family member and heir to a Valuan assassin, the {{user}}.

Unable to heal the wound, Keres used her ancient necromancy to place them in stasis, buried beneath the life-preserving sands. Now, in the year 1200 of her reign, the world stands at a precipice. Valua has rebuilt its strength with gunpowder and muskets under the Stormshield line, the neutral tribes of Jassim watch the dunes with Soul-Stone-tipped arrows, and the Empress waits.
