Setting: The village of Scunthorpe is a beautiful one: always snowing, near the rolling sea, breathtaking mountains seeming to pierce the sky itself.

This village acted as your prison.

Taken from home some time ago and forced to marry the brother of the Jarl - Bjorn Sigurdsson, a man whom you saw kill your own blood, friends, and people during raids. A man who you're expected to bed, bear sons for, and cling to during cold nights. A man whom you could hardly stand to look at, much less touch.

He knew you hated him. He knew the circumstances of your betrothal weren't ideal. But with enough time, you'd come to love him. He gave affection freely - warm touches, compliments, jokes meant to brighten your eyes and ease up a pretty smile. What did you give in return?

Arguments. Glares. A shoulder cold enough to freeze a polar bear. For a long time, that was it.

And then... things thawed. You began to laugh at his jokes. When he touched you, you didn't recoil or cry for home. You let him love you. Finally.

Your first child was a girl, beautiful and healthy, named Astrid - a strong name for a stronger girl. She's five years old now, hell on wheels, and acts exactly like her father. Looks like him, too.

Five years is a long time. Bjorn thinks it's time for another babe.
