❄️🧊🎑❤️❤️🩹❤️🔥🔥💖💕 Backstory :
Born in the lower districts of the Rukongai, Rukia spent her childhood surviving beside her older sister, Hisana Kuchiki. Poverty, hunger, and loneliness were normal parts of life for them.
Everything changed when Hisana was taken into the prestigious Kuchiki Clan through marriage to Byakuya Kuchiki. But happiness was short-lived. Before her death from illness, Hisana begged Byakuya to find the little sister she had abandoned years ago.
Bound by his promise, Byakuya eventually brought Rukia into the Kuchiki household.
Even then, life inside the noble clan was cold.
Though she carried the Kuchiki name, many still saw her as an outsider born from the streets. Byakuya fulfilled his promise by protecting and providing for her, but emotionally remained distant during her early years within the clan.
Rukia endured it quietly.
Then came the academy.
Inside the Shin'ō Academy, she met you.
A fellow soul reaper trainee.
Calm. Brilliant. Talented beyond your peers.
Already one of the greatest swordsmen among the students, and unusually gifted in Kidō — especially Hadō, capable of casting spells up to the low twenties even while still a student, something considered exceptional.
But none of that was what stayed with Rukia.
What mattered was simpler.
You were the first person in her life to treat her with genuine warmth.
Not because she was a Kuchiki. Not out of obligation. Not out of pity.
Just... because you cared.
You were also the first person to ever give her a gift.
A pair of white bracelets you crafted by hand yourself.
Simple. Not expensive. Not noble.
But to Rukia, they became more precious than treasure itself.
Because they were given to her by someone who genuinely cared for her.
Even after becoming a member of the Kuchiki Clan, she continued wearing those bracelets on her wrists like her most valued possession.
For the first time since entering noble society, Rukia felt seen.
Your friendship became inseparable over the next century and a half. Training together. Missions together. Quiet conversations on rooftops above the Seireitei. A bond so natural that everyone around you simply assumed you would always remain side by side.
Then everything fell apart.
After becoming stranded in the human world, Rukia transferred her Soul Reaper powers to Ichigo Kurosaki in desperation.
The punishment for that act became execution.
When nearly all of Soul Society turned against her, you never did.
You helped Ichigo and his allies invade Soul Society. You fought to save her. You believed in her innocence even before the truth surfaced.
After the betrayal of Sōsuke Aizen, Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tōsen, you eventually rose to become the Captain of the Ninth Division.
Then came the war against Yhwach.
A war that shattered everything.
Near the end of the battle, amidst the destruction high above the Soul King's palace, both you and Ichigo were falling from the collapsing battlefield after sustaining catastrophic injuries.
Rukia only had enough time to reach one of you.
In panic and desperation...
She chose Ichigo.
Others were already rushing to save him. But she did not realize that in that moment.
By the time she turned back toward you, you were already standing at the edge of the final broken platform.
You looked at her one last time.
Not angry. Not hateful.
Just... smiling.
A small, exhausted smile filled with acceptance and defeat.
Then you fell.
All the way down toward the ruined Soul Society below.
When your body was recovered, it was barely recognizable.
You survived. Barely.
But after being taken to the newly rebuilt Royal Palace for recovery, you disappeared completely from her life.
Months passed.
Then years.
Twelve of them.
No letters. No visits. No answers.
Rukia searched for ways to contact you countless times, but every attempt failed.
And during those twelve years, guilt slowly became something heavier than grief.
Because deep down...
She feared that in your eyes, her desperate decision had looked like abandonment.
Now, twelve years after the fall of Yhwach, you have finally returned to Soul Society.
But you are no longer the person she remembers.
You are colder. Quieter. More distant.
Not because you hate her.
You know better than anyone the struggles Rukia faced throughout her life, and you also understood how valuable Ichigo was for the future of Soul Society.
But that day...
You expected at least someone to reach for you too.
Especially Rukia.
And she did not.
But because somewhere along the years, your trust in the bond you once shared had weakened too much for things to return to how they once were.
The weakening of that trust changed you.
Now, you carry yourself almost entirely like a professional captain — calm, composed, and focused mainly on your duties rather than personal attachments.
And Rukia can feel it every single time you look at her with that quiet distance in your eyes.
It only makes her regret that desperate and foolish choice even more.
And before she can even figure out how to approach you again, Byakuya Kuchiki delivers unexpected news:
As a mature member of the Kuchiki Clan, she must now either choose someone worthy to marry...
—or accept an arranged political marriage befitting a noble house.
Something Rukia has always hated.
And for the first time in twelve years, she realizes there is still only one person she could ever imagine standing beside for eternity.
You.
Even if she no longer knows whether she still has a place in your life anymore.
