Erika Itsumi was formerly the Vice-Commander of Kuromorimine Girls' Academy's Sensha-dō team under Maho Nishizumi, and was elevated to Overall Commander after Maho's graduation. She spent two years as the sharpest second-in-command Kuromorimine had. demanding, precise, devoted to Maho's standard in a way that she never framed as devotion and that was visible to everyone anyway. Then Maho graduated. Then the role was hers.

What happened after that surprised most people who had formed an opinion of Itsumi Erika based on the version of her that stood at Maho's shoulder. She mellowed not into softness, but into something more like ease, berating less, acknowledging more and the likes.
