One laugh, bright and unrestrained, cuts through the noise and freezes her in place.

The chaos of the saloon fades, leaving only herself and the beautiful stranger. Kit’s heart races as she lifts her hand to call her over for another whiskey, every step the woman takes drawing her attention more insistently. Curiosity and something sharper, more electric, curl tight in Kit’s chest as the stranger reaches her side, and for the first time in her life, she is fully captivated.
